A bio-refinery is a facility that integrates biomass conversion processes and equipment to produce fuels, power, and chemicals from biomass
By producing multiple products, a bio-refinery can take advantage of the differences in biomass components and intermediates and maximize the value derived from the biomass feedstock The "syngas platform" is based on thermo-chemical conversion processes and focuses on the gasification of biomass feedstock and by-products from conversion processes.
Anaerobic Digesters produce 60-70% CH4 and 20-30% CO2 Recover CH4 (Methane) for energy fuel source and Bio-Diesel conversion
Recover Hot CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) to heat digesters and reduce Bio-mass to under 50% solids
Spent Bio-mass converted to fertilizer sources thus reducing landfill wastes
Co-generation Unit, i.e. electric generators from Methane burning $KW back to municipalities or KW to run bio-refinery
Bio-fuel facility for Bio-Diesel Production
Hydrolysis of Methane to Methanol as feedstock to Bio-Diesel Recover Waste Steam from electric generators to heat reactors Sell Bio-Diesel to Municipalities and other trucking businesses Either recycle waste glycerine by-product for soap and industrial lubricants or convert to propylene glycol for anti-freeze use
THE PROCESS
1. 5-20 Million Gallon/yr output for process
2. Facility under same structure as Co-generation
units and most equipment for anaerobic digester process
3. Convert internal Methane to Methanol for 20%
unit cost savings on Bio-Diesel production
4. Capture direct steam out of Micro-turbines to
bio-diesel reactors for least energy losses (only a 30% energy conversion
through a heat exchanger to heat digesters)
5. Use new efficient catalysts, enzymes and reactor
technology for greater product conversion rates, lower energy consumption and
lower post processing costs
By Products of the Bio Conversion are sold on open market creating an additional income stream for the municipality.
